Krishnadevaraya fete ends on a colourful note
The one-month long 500th coronation celebrations of Sri Krishnadevaraya held in several Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra districts culminated in Penukonda, the historic second capital of the famous Emperor, with the participation of Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and several Union Ministers and a galaxy of leaders belonging to the broad social and political spectrum.
The three-day concluding celebrations which commenced on August 6 ended on Sunday amidst a colourful display of cultural extravaganza re-enacted once again to the joy of the participants. The settings on the stage which resembled the grandeur of the Durbar of Krishnadevaraya was impressive. An overwhelmed Chief Minister said that the grand platform designed by the TTD gave the dignitaries on the dais the feeling that they were actually in royal court hall.
