On other hand, The Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi said, the state had suffered a major loss due to the tribunal's verdict, and blamed TDP for the crisis. He said the problem had cropped up in the first place due to wrong policies adopted during the TDP tenure.

Chiranjeevi also demanded that the state government and Congress MPs, to mount pressure on Centre, to see that the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal's award on Krishna river water sharing, was not implemented. The PRP Chief said, The tribunal award is a virtual death blow to state.

The actor-turned-politician asserted that, The permission given to Karnataka for raising the height of Alamatti dam, would result in lesser inflows into state & affects several irrigation projects taken up under the ambitious Jalayagnam programme..
