Congress MPs ready to quit

Congress Working Committee and Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao and another party MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy on Sunday promised to resign from their posts if the Centre did not concede separate Telangana.
At a meeting to mark release of 2011 diary of Telangana employees association here, Dr. Rao said he was anguished at the delay in formation of the State despite the promise of Congress to this effect. The Centre must acknowledge the desire of people of the region.
Dr. Rao said he would quit the CWC post as it was not at all important to him when it came to pressing the demand for separate Telangana. This was not the time to merely indulge in hollow talk but act with conviction.
People could not be deceived any more, he added. Mr. Reddy said 11 Congress MPs from Telangana other than Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy were prepared to resign if the party went back on its promise.
