Krishna waters regulatory authority soon

An independent authority to regulate water flows in the Krishna river and ensure the allocated quotas to riparian States of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, as under Brijesh Kumar Mishra Tribunal Award, will be constituted soon.
The authority will comprise one Additional Secretary and a Joint Secretary, both from the Union government, besides engineers-in-chief, one each from riparian States. Major Irrigation Minister P. Sudarshan Reddy said a regulatory authority was formed for the first time for the Krishna as the tribunal distributed even surplus waters among the three states.
