Ahead of therelease of the Srikrishna Committee's report on January 6, the Congress high command has summoned all the party MPs from Telangana region for consultations. Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and others would try to placate the MPs after their aggressive statements and threats to quit their seats if Telangana Bill was not introduced in Parliament. An MP from North Telangana explained that they were only asking the UPA government to fulfil the promise it had made on December 9.

He lamented that a deliberate campaign was launched to malign them that they were going against the interests of the party. They are firm in their resolve to lodge a complaint against the conduct of certain members of the Srikrishna Committee, who have gone to the media hinting about contents of the report.
