Telugu Desam MLA, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy representing Banswada in Nizamabad district, announced his resignation as legislator and from the party besides his intention to join the TRS soon. Mr. Reddy told media persons that he took the decision in deference to the wishes of his constituents of Banswada and disappointment with the party leadership's stand on separate Telangana.

His constituents wanted him to work with parties that strongly favoured Telangana. More MLAs from Nizamabad and Karimnagar too were expected to follow Mr. Reddy in resigning, plunging the party into a crisis.
