former Kapada MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy took strong exception to delay in grounding Polavaram irrigation project. On the second day of his Odarpu Yatra' in the district on Tuesday, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said had his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy been alive, work would have begun by now. This evoked thunderous applause from the crowd here at a public meeting .

The yatra would end on January 8 and an announcement on resuming it made only after Sankranti, said former TTD chairman B. Karunakar Reddy. Support for Mr. Jagan poured in from other districts with former Gurazala MLA Janga Krishna Murthy, Udayagiri MLA Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy, former MLAs Varukula Subba Rao and Thota Gopalakrishna from East Godavari rallying behind him.
