Fund shortage hits drainage works - Viveka

Works on the underground drainage system in Pulivendula, approved during the rule of the YSR government, came to a standstill owing to fund paucity, Minister for Agriculture Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy said on Friday. The Minister garlanded the statute of Mahatma Gandhi on the Government Junior College premises in Pulivendula and went round Chenna Reddy Colony on foot.
When people asked him about laying a cement road to prevent overflowing of drainage water onto the road and complained that the drinking water being supplied was greenish, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy directed Municipal Commissioner Phalguna Kumar to take remedial measures. Stating that he would go round Pulivendula for two more days to enlist problems, the Minister remarked that there were no major problems in the Pulivendula .
