Undeclared emergency in Telangana - BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the authorities of imposing an undeclared emergency in Telangana region and criticised curbs on media in covering the agitation. State BJP's office-bearers from Telangana region met at the party headquarters here on Friday and reviewed the situation. The meeting lashed out at the government and felt that it had no moral right to continue. The only solution was the introduction of a Bill in the next session of the Parliament to bifurcate the State, they observed.
The BJP leaders gave a call to the party units in districts to take out protest rallies and hold dharnas in the respective headquarter towns to protest against restrictions on media and deployment of paramilitary forces in Telangana. The BJP national leadership would be apprised of all these issues during the two-day national executive at Guwahati, beginning today.
