The Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park will soon have a new attraction with the arrival of a Zebra, going by the announcement made by Mr. Jairam Ramesh, on Sunday. The Minister drove around the sprawling zoo premises in a battery-operated vehicle for over an hour, visiting several animal enclosures.

Expressing pain at the zoo authorities keeping the pachyderms chained, the Minister observed that his Ministry was basically against confinement of animals. He asked Tirupathi MP, Chinta Mohan to follow up the one-time grant of Rs.1 crore announced by TTD for the zoo.
