The CPI State Council at its meeting in the city on Monday demanded re-examination of the Krishna Water Tribunal's award in view of the severe loss it would cause in 13 districts. In this regard, it adopted a resolution to exert pressure on the Centre by launching widespread agitations in districts.

According to a statement by K. Narayana, party secretary, the council demanded a firm statement by the Centre on the Srikrishna Committee report and introduce a Bill in Parliament, thus overcoming the uncertain situation in the State'. It charged the government with adopting time-wasting tactics' by not announcing its policy on the issue.
