As Sankranthi festive season is just a few days ahead, villages have already worn a colourful look. People are booking tickets and are thronging to reach their home towns. Special delicacies are churned up for the festival period. Many important events like the Cock fight, Rangoli maing competion mark the prominence of this colourfull festival.

Many women participate in the rangoli competition held in every nook and corner of the street. Traditional delicacies like Bobatlu, Ariselu, Burelu and mouth watering Chakara pongali are prepared during the festival season.
