Praja Rajyam Party president K. Chiranjeevi kept his partymen in the dark about his meeting with Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday evening. The meeting was known to media only minutes before his arrival at the Raj Bhavan. When contacted, several party leaders pleaded ignorance about the meeting and its purpose.

Talking to mediapersons after his meeting with the Governor, Mr. Chiranjeevi stated that he had called on the former only to extend Sankranti wishes and politics did not figure in their meeting. He was planning to call on the Governor for the last few months but was unable to do so, he said.

On the defiance of party by legislators B. Shobha Nagi Reddy and K. Rami Reddy by participating in Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's protests at Vijayawada and New Delhi, the PRP chief said they would take a decision at a meeting of the party on issuing show-cause notices to the two MLAs.
