CPI (M) to Congress Communist Party of India State secretary B. V. Raghavulu has asked the Centre to act upon the Srikrishna Committee Report immediately and said that any further delay in taking a decision will sink the Congress in the State. Addressing a press conference on Thursday after a meeting of the party's State secretariat, he said the delay in the name of talks would not resolve the situation.
Mr. Raghavulu said there was no change in the CPI (M) stand on the Telangana issue. The party would prefer the sixth option suggested by the committee for a united Andhra Pradesh with certain Constitutional and statutory measures for the development of Telangana. On the allegation levelled by some leaders that the Committee members had been unduly influenced by leaders from Seemandhra', he sought to know why didn't they say it before the report was submitted.
