Breaking his long silence, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Friday outlined his plans for stepping up the agitation for a separate Telangana: a blockade of roads on January 17, mass relay hunger strike on January 21, followed by paralysing the administration in the Telangana region in February.

The Centre has to keep its promise made on December 9 or face the onslaught of the people. He said there was no need to tear shirt and rush to the streets on the T-issue daily; he was adopting a cautious strategy to avoid the pitfalls of the 1969 agitation and to create an unprecedented impact on the Centre to grant statehood.
