TRS, BJP stage road blockades over Telangana issue

Stepping up the agitation for introduction of a bill for formation of Telangana state in the Budget session of Parliament, activists of TRS, BJP, and several other organisations staged road blockades across the region on Monday. Road traffic was badly affected in various towns and villages in the region, as the Telangana supporters blocked traffic following the call given by Telangana political Joint Action Committee.
Demanding that the Centre table the Telangana bill, Mr. Kodandaram warned that agitation will be intensified by starting relay hunger strikes from January 21.The protesters conducted similar `rasta-roko at other places in the city too. TRS MLA D Vinay Bhaskar and BJP leaders led the protest at a busy road in Warangal, while another TRS MLA and party president K Chandrasekhar Raos nephew T Harish Rao organised protests in Medak district.
