Eight Congress MPs from Telangana who met here on Monday in the backdrop of winds about possible expansion of Union Cabinet shortly were not averse to accepting Ministerial berths that may come along their way. The meeting, which was held at the residence of Bhongir MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, is said to have discussed the possibility of one MP from Telangana getting inducted into the Cabinet.
In that case, it was decided to accept the post and yet continue to wage struggles for separate Telangana. The expansion was not being done with an eye on Telangana, but concerned interests of the whole country. Moreover, their agitation on Statehood will not stop even if one of them joined the Cabinet, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar said. He condemned media reports that the Congress high command was trying to pacify MPs from Telangana by meeting them regularly.
