TDP to launch stir against fuel hike

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the party would launch public agitations in phases beginning with dharna' in all 294 Assembly constituencies on January 22 demanding rollback of prices of petroleum products. Addressing a media conference, Mr. Naidu said he himself would lead a bicycle rally from the party office to Indira Park here, to protest against the unjustified hike .
For every litre of fuel purchased at Rs. 20, both the governments were knocking away Rs. 40 to Rs. 45 in this manner and the income shot substantially every time there was a hike. During the agitation, these aspects would be brought out and explained to the people. He said the Centre was not justified in effecting the hike as all the oil companies were making profits without exception.
