Kiran's diktat to Telangana MLAs and Ministers

Dismissing the concerns of Ministers and elected representatives from Telangana region over possible trouble during the Rachabanda programme beginning from January 24, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked them to actively participate in the mass contact programme.
At a meeting of the Cabinet to discuss arrangements for the Rachabanda programme on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy is said to have remarked that in places where there are no MLAs of the Congress, the Ministers should attend.
Congress MLAs and MPs have expressed fears that the pro-Telangana forces would corner them during the village-level meetings and demand their resignation. They feel that Rachabanda' is ill-timed and could have been taken up when the situation eased in the region.
