The Seemandhra MPs have been invited by the Congress high command on Thursday for consultations on the Srikrishna Committee. Senior AICC leader Pranab Mukherjee, A.K. Antony and Ahmed Patel will represent the high command on Thursday, as a precursor to the all-party meeting convened by Mr. Chidambaram later this month.

Led by V. Hanumantha Rao, Rajya Sabha member, the Telangana MPs impressed upon Mr. K.S. Rao the need to end the climate of political uncertainty over the Statehood issue. Otherwise, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K. Chandrasekhar Rao would exploit the situation to his advantage and the Congress would fare poorly in the next elections in Telangana. This would put an end to the prevailing confusion and bring the State back on the path of development.
