The State government will request the Centre to introduce 35 new trains in Andhra Pradesh in the railway budget for 2011-12. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy who is leaving for Delhi on Friday, plans to discuss the State's requirements for new trains with Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Ahead of his visit, he held a meeting to review the issue with Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and officials of South Central Railway and the State government on Wednesday. The proposed 35 trains include 17 Mail and Express trains, eight commuter trains and 10 MMTS. South Central Railway General Manager M. S.
