Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday welcomed into party fold over 1,000 active members of Telugu Desam Party from Nirmal constituency. This has virtually decimated the ranks of TDP in this constituency, a bastion of the party in Adilabad district. A few scores of Congress leaders and workers also joined the TRS.

The new entrants and the large gathering that came to listen to Mr. Rao, vowed to fight for the cause of Telangana. The TRS president once again exhorted the TDP and Congress legislators in Telangana region to resign for pressurising the Centre on the issue and warned of serious consequences if they continued to dither.
