CM KKR leaves for New Delhi

Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy left for New Delhi, this morning, on a two-day trip to confer with the Congress leadership on the contentious statehood issue. The Congress high command directed Kiran to come to New Delhi to discuss the statehood issue as the Centre was likely to take a final decision, on the recommendations of the Justice Srikrishna Committee.
Besides meeting the leaders of Congress core committee, the Chief Minister will also interact with several Union Ministers on various pending issues related to the state. He will meet Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and discuss the pending railway projects as well as request her to introduce 35 new trains from the state. He is also expected to meet the new Water Resources Minister Salman Kurshid , Home Minister P Chidambaram and others, the CMO sources said.
