Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy met Mamta Banerjee on Friday and represented to the Union Minister about introducing Visakhapatnam-Shirdi Express thrice a week, Visakhapatnam-Mangalore bi-weekly express and Visakhapatnam-Araku daily passenger train.

He has asked for diversion of the 10 trains that were currently skipping Visakhapatnam as that would not entail any additional running time, but provide some quality on-platform services for the long-distance passengers.

The MP expects at least four of these trains to be diverted via Visakhapatnam as the Railway Board had also expressed feasibility.
