Kiran urges parties not to stop Rachabanda

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has fervently appealed to political parties including a section of the ruling party leaders to extend cooperation in the successful conduct of Rachabanda programme starting from today.
He wanted the parties to understand the significance of the programme, the first major programme being launched after the Congress returned to power in 2009, wherein the government was trying to enrol all the left out beneficiaries under various schemes to reach the last mile.
Elected representatives from the grassroots level should participate in the programme, cutting across political lines, and ensure that the targeted sections were benefited by it. The government would be distributing benefits worth Rs. 2,500 crore during the programme of which Rs. 1,200 crore had already been sanctioned, he said.
