Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Sunday that healthcare was a priority area for the government. It was spending about Rs.1,000 crore on the sector, extending benefits to about 2.5 lakh people. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the minimal access surgery centre, a new facility of Beams Hospitals Pvt Ltd.
It was the hospital's fourth centre after Mumbai, Amritsar and Indore. Mr. Reddy went around the three-storeyed premises, accompanied by Minister for Marketing M. Mukesh Goud and Managing Director Rakesh Sinha. Dr. Sinha said the hospital was conceptualised to provide patients a painless way of treating any surgical procedure through minimal access. Beams CEO S. Krishnamoorthy said minimal invasive surgical procedures were gaining patronage as they drastically reduced in-patient stay.
