Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to bring in a draft bill to curb black money and revise diplomatic treaties with countries like Switzerland to bring back such illegal money. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he stated that about Rs. 73 lakh crore earned through illegal means in the country was being kept in the secret accounts of banks in Switzerland and other tax havens.

He released a letter he had written to the Prime Minister on the issue. In spite of the fact that the Supreme Court had expressed its concern over black money and termed it a major national security threat due to involvement of the mafia, the Central Government was not making any effort to bring back the money, he pointed out.
