Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy promised a bridge across the Krishna at Siddeswaram-Somasila connecting Kollapur in Mahabubnagar with Atmakur in Kurnool. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy who flew in from Kurnool to address a public meeting at Singayapalli in Kollapur of Mahabubnagar district was responding to the plea of Minister for Endowments Jupalli Krishna Rao who wanted the bridge.

Chief Minister promised a wide road to a length of 43 km in Kollapur and said the government was thinking of putting out a comprehensive project at a cost of Rs. 20,000 crore to improve roads in the entire State, which were in a bad shape.

Funds needed to be pooled from different sources. He promised funds for completion of irrigation projects which provide water to 8 lakh acres.
