Vidyasagar Rao confident of bill on Telangana

Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao has exuded confidence that the Congress would be forced to introduce bill in the parliament for the formation of separate Telangana State. Talking to newsmen on Sunday, Mr. Rao said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would take into consideration the BJP national executive resolution of extending unconditional support to the UPA government for the passage of separate Telangana bill in the parliament.
The UPA government should accept the main Opposition party demand as the BJP had earlier also extended support for the passage of Council bill in the parliament, he added. Demanding that Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram should abide by his December 9, 2009 statement on Telangana statehood and his statement made in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for carving out separate state, he ridiculed the Union government for constituting Srikrishna Committee, which was unconstitutional and against the Parliament privileges.
