Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Monday said that, his government was committed to continue all welfare schemes and complete developmental programmes, initiated by the late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Speaking after unveiling a YSR statue at Reddigunta checkpost, in Chittoor district, Chief Minister reminded, the untimely death of YSR in a helicopter crash, while he was coming to the district to launch the 'Rachchabanda' programme.

He also recalled that the new Collectorate complex and office of district superintendent of police, were set up in the district with valuable suggestions and farsightedness of late Dr Reddy. Referring to the acute shortage of drinking water in the district, especially in Chittoor town, Mr Reddy said that his government was formulating plans to solve the chronic problem by taking up works very shortly.
