Kaka fumes at Sonia: Whither Congress?

It was an unexpected attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. Veteran leader and former MP G Venkatswamy, who had hitherto been one of her staunch loyalists, took a sudden U turn and made a scathing attack on her. Kaka, who was elevated to the post of Congress Working Committee member by Sonia Gandhi, said Sonia did not deserve to be the president of the 125-year old Congress party.
Under her leadership, the party has become degenerated and is facing the collapse. It has lost power in several states and its position has become miserable in states like Bihar and UP, which were once the Congress strongholds.
As long as she continues to be the party president, there is no future for the Congress party, he said. She has to give up the party president post voluntarily or else the media should launch a campaign to remove her, he said.
