Strongly reacting on the statements passed by Venkatswamy, on AICC president Sonia Gandhi, State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, D.Sridhar Babu, said that it is unfortunate for a senior leader to make comments against the party leadership.

Describing Mr Venkataswamy's criticism as ridiculous and unfortunate, Mr.Sridhar Babu suggested that irrespective of seniority in the party, all the party workers should respect AICC President Sonia Gandhi.

The Minister also pointed out that it is because of Sonia that the UPA Government, is in power at national level. He said that Sonia Gandhi is a great leader who has worked to strengthen the Congress party without aspiring for any positions.
