NLaying emphasis on the importance of cadre for the party, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has assured the Congress cadre that various nominated positions would be filled at the earliest.

He told a large gathering of party leaders and activists of Krishna district on Thursday evening that there was intense competition for the nominated positions, but the exercise would be taken up because the Government was mindful of the efforts made by the activists and cadre to bring the party to power.

In his more than 30-minute address to the gathering in Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, the Chief Minister admitted that he did not have a close interaction with the party rank and file as he had spent better part of his political career working to defend Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy within the Assembly.
