Kin of jail inmates move SHRC

Contradicting reports that the staff of Cherlapally jail were attacked by inmates with alleged Inter-Services Intelligence links recently, the relatives of inmates on Thursday petitioned the State Human Rights Commission stating that it was their wards who received injuries when they were assaulted by the staff. The relatives led by Tehreek Tahfooz Shariat-e-Islam founder Mohd.
Naseeruddin and corporator of Majlis Bachao Tehreek Amjadullah Khalid informed the commission that the condition of 13 of the 22 injured inmates was serious and required hospitalisation. However, they were still lodged in jail with bleeding injuries and severe pain.
They were unable to walk or move around. Acting chairperson of SHRC K. Peda Peri Reddy in his order later directed the Director General of Prisons and Commissioner of Police of Cyberabad to visit the jail and arrange medical aid to the injured, including shifting them to hospital if necessary.

Don't post rude or nasty comments. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. |
