The merger of Praja Rajyam with the ruling Congress has cleared one more hurdle in the way of statehood to Telangana region, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao said here on Monday. the TRS chief told media persons, that they will see it as a positive development for Telangana, for it will be easy for the Congress to take a decision since K. Chiranjeevi has already made it clear that he will support whatever decision the Centre takes in this regard, .

Asked to react on reported comments of Congress leader K. Keshava Rao that PR's merger would also pave the way for merger of TRS with the Congress, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said it was a foolish talk and aimed at diverting attention from the movement. The question of TRS merger with other party does not arise at all. Ours is not a cinema party, which can be merged anytime, he noted.
