Former MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy began his Polavaram Harita Yatra' on National Highway-16 junction on Monday with a large number of his followers and leaders from different places in East Godavari district.

The yatra covered 20 km in Kothapeta constituency. After paying floral tributes to the statue of his father, YSR and that of a local leader, Mr. Jagan criticised the State government for not spending its own funds for taking up project works of Polavaram and seeking reimbursement from the Centre once it was declared a national project.

He said that there was no alternative for the Polavaram multi-purpose project to offset the damage caused by the verdict of the Krishna Waters Disputes Tribunal.
