* Commotion, slogans force Kiran to abruptly end speech
* RI M. Ramesh, ASI D. Upender behave rudely with media

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was forced to end his speech in less than five minutes after a sudden commotion in the crowds that turned up for the public meeting on Thursday. Unprecedented number of policemen everywhere, endless frisking and impolite behaviour of police angered the people.

During his brief speech, Mr. Kiran said Telangana issue could only be solved by the Centre and there was nothing in the hands of State government. The Srikrishna Committee has submitted its report. The Centre will take a decision which will be implemented by the State government, he said while women rose and raised slogans in support of Telangana.

Mr. Kiran said development should not suffer just because of the issue. But not many were ready to hear him and sensing their mood, he hurriedly ended his speech. Meanwhile, the bandh call given by the TRS and other organisations was total and peaceful.

Banks, petrol bunks, educational institutions and shops were closed. The RTC suspended its operations and auto-rickshaw drivers too voluntarily observed bandh.
