Congress leaders should pressure Centre on T : TDP

The Telangana leaders of the Telugu Desam Party have demanded that the leaders of other political parties, the Congress in particular, mount pressure on the Central government for initiating the process for formation of a separate State. The arguments presented by Attorney General G.E. Vahanvati in the High Court clearly brought out the need for a political solution to the vexatious issue and it was for the Centre to take a decision now.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, senior TDP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy described the constitution of the Justice B.N. Srikrishna committee as a useless committee and a cruel joke played on the people of Telangana.Mr. Vahanvati's claims that the committee had no legal sanctity reflected the way the Congress-led UPA government had hurt the sentiments of people aspiring for separate Statehood.
