A meeting of political parties in the city on Saturday in support of separate Telangana saw the Congress and Telugu Desam leaders pointing fingers at each other about inability to convince their respective leadership to agree to Statehood. It was organised by the Telangana coordination committee.

Initially, Congress MP Madhu Yashki questioned TDP MLAs M. Narasimhulu and G. Jaipal Yadav if they could convince their party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on the need.

He also said the Congress was eager to know about the stand of the TDP on the issue. On the other hand, the Congress MPs and MLAs from Telangana were united and frequently rubbed the leadership on the wrong side.
