Governor Faces T-Wrath, Humiliation In Assembly

It was the most humiliating experience for Governor E S L Narasimhan in the hands of the Telangana MLAs in the State Assembly on Thursday.
The assembly resembled a battle zone when slogan-shouting Telangana legislators cutting across the party lines disrupted the Governor's address on the opening day of the budget session.
In an unprecedented scene, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs pulled out the Governor's mike even as he was speaking, tore the copies of his address and flung papers at him. Utter chaos prevailed as TRS and Telangana TDP members moved menacingly towards the Governor and clashed with the security staff.
They grabbed his papers and uprooted his mike. Taken aback by the ambush, the Governor quickly gathered his wits and continued reading out speech. Full-throated slogans of 'Governor Go Back', 'We want Telangana' reverberated the old Assembly Hall as TRS and TDP MLAs created ruckus and made their intentions right from the word go.
The Governor hurried through his speech, completing it in just 14 minutes amidst din and furore. Byte: ESL Narasimhan Addressing the speech, Narasimhan said that the government aims in providing equal oppurtunites to all.
He said the government planned to see their was no backward region in the state. The governor added that by 2014 the State would be free from dirty,untidy and unhygenic areas. Narasimhan added the per capital income of the state was much better when compared to the previous financial year. He left the assembly Hall from the back way immediately after which the assembly was adjourned for today.
