Police on Friday arrested the driver of a TRS legislator who had hit Lok Satta president in the premises of the Assembly media point, on Thursday. A first information report was registered on a complaint by legislature secretary Raja Sadaram. Mallesh, the driver of TRS legislator E. Rajender, has been booked under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code which relates to assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.

Malesh allegedly hit Jaiprakash on his head. The TRS legislators had a heated argument with him, after he spoke to the media criticising TRS legislators for their behaviour during Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan's address to the joint session of both houses. A few minutes later Mallesh allegedly hit Jaiprakash on his head from the back.
