Violence uncalled for, says D. Srinivas

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president D. Srinivas has said that resorting to violence and unruly behaviour in the name of protest in the Assembly was uncalled for. At a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Srinivas took serious exception to the conduct of the TRS and the TDP MLAs during Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan's address to joint session of the Legislature.
The ruckus has lowered the image of people of Telangana, who are known for their dignity and culture, he said. He wondered as to how the legislators in the name of an emotional issue could resort to such condemnable acts.
Stating that protest by holding placards and banners inside the House, though against the conduct was okay. But, resorting to violence could not be condoned. Instead of violence, the TRS and other leaders could try to convince the Centre to take an early decision on the statehood, he pointed out.
