In view of the 48-hour bandh call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee in the Telangana region from today, police has sought for additional central forces for deployment in the city to avert any untoward incidents. According to Police Commissioner A.K. Khan, a request for additional central forces for deployment near the Assembly and Osmania University, has been made.

Referring to the violent incidents that rocked the state capital on Monday as part of the 'Chalo Assembly' and 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' rallies, Khan said police was gathering evidence on the violent incidents that occurred near OU and Assembly and would appropriately book cases against those who violated the prohibitory orders.
