Kasab to contest death sentence

Two days after the Bombay High Court upheld death sentence to Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab, the gunman has told his lawyers that he wants to contest the sentence in the Supreme Court.
According to Kasab's lawyer, Farhana Shah who met Kasab for the first after the verdict, said he still has a right to appeal. Shah said he has been reading the Quran given to him days before the HC verdict. If the SC upholds the High Court verdict, Kasab may seek remission from the President. There are 27 mercy petitions already in queue.
