The Telangana Rastra Samiti legislators will boycott Assembly sessions on Monday and Tuesday, to campaign and mobilise for the Rail Roko programme on March 1. Announcing the decision on Sunday evening, the TRS legislature party leader, Mr Etela Rajender, said: Unless we take up such agitation programmes, the Centre will not look into the popular demand of Telangana people.

The TRS legislators along with the BJP members have been stalling the Assembly proceedings for the last six days by trooping into the well of the Assembly and forcing frequent adjournments of the house. As a result, no useful business has been transacted. The TRS boycott call is a relief for the Chair as it can conduct proceedings and finish the general discussion on the Budget.
