The Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, returned from Delhi on Sunday evening after finalizing the list of Congress candidates for the upcoming MLC polls. The list has not been released to the media and is a closely guarded secret as of now. In Delhi, Mr Reddy met Mr Ahmed Patel, political secretary to the Congress president on two ocassions.

Some changes were made to the list of aspirants before it was finally approved. Party sources confirmed that this is the first time such a list has been finalised without involving the PCC chief, Mr D. Srinivas. Mr Srinivas is himself an aspirant for an MLC post. Sources said he will be leaving for Delhi today to try and ensure his name is included in the list.
