Legislative Council election from local bodies constituency in the district is generating considerable political heat in the already volatile district. The MLC election is triggering unexpected developments by day. Rival parties are lodging police complaints against each other alleging kidnapping of their supporters.

Congress workers lodged a complaint against Kadapa former mayor and uncle of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy P. Ravindranath Reddy accusing him of kidnapping Kommadinne MPTC member, who was their supporter. Kamalapur MLA G. Veera Siva Reddy and Congress MLC candidate Varadarajulu Reddy even demanded the arrest of Mr Ravindranath Reddy on charges of kidnapping. The Congress turned the tables on Jagans camp by snatching Mr Varadaralulu Reddy from his camp and fielding him as its candidate.
