The TJAC chairman meets PCC chief D. Srinivas

Chairman of Telangana Joint Action Committee M. Kodandaram on Sunday met Congress Working Committee member K. Keshava Rao in wake of the threat held out by pro-Telangana protagonists to burn the effigies of Congress leaders. Kodandaram hailed the role of Congress MPs from the region, who staged protests in the Lok Sabha forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House thrice.
He said if the same pressure tactics were applied by the MLAs and the MLCs from the region, statehood would be a reality shortly. During the meeting, the TJAC leader explained the role of employees, teachers and workers, who had struck work as part of non-cooperation agitation.
He wanted the Congress leaders to bring the seriousness of the problem to the notice of the high command so that Centre acted swiftly on the statehood issue. He stated that rail-roko agitation on March 1 would be historical as the villagers were expected to lay a siege to the railway tracks across the region bringing rail services to a grinding halt.
