TDP candidates for Council polls
Telugu Desam polit bureau which met on Thursday cleared the names of six candidates for Local Authorities Constituenciesand three for graduates' constituencies in the Legislative Council elections.
It has decided not to contest from three LACs -- Kadapa, Srikakulam and Hyderabad -- and put off the announcement on candidates from MLAs' quota to March 5.TDP leaders, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and Ramesh Rathod, denied the charge of a secret understanding between Congress and TDP in Kadapa LAC.
They said, not only in Kadapa, wherever the party was not contesting, LAC voters have been asked not to cast their vote in favour of any other party. In fact, a camp would be maintained in Kadapa for the TDP voters. He recalled that the party had not put up a candidate in 2007 and 2009 elections too from Kadapa LAC.
