Rathotsavam held at Srisailam
As part of the ninth day celebrations, Rathotsavam was conducted at Srisailam on Thursday. In fact, the celebrations would formally conclude on the 11th day on March 5 with pushpotsavam' and sayanotsavam' rituals.
The flower-bedecked chariot was taken in procession on the main streets of Srisailam and drawn back to the temple. According to temple authorities, devotees expressed their devotion to the Lord this year with flowers.
More and more donors came forward with donations of flowers from Bangalore and other places. The temple authorities expressed their happiness over the new trend. Meanwhile, according to an estimate, over 9 lakh pilgrims worshipped at the shrine this year since beginning of Sivaratri celebrations on February 23. The temple authorities heaved a sigh of relief over peaceful conduct of the festival.
